Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan (DMUM) raises funds and awareness for pediatric rehabilitation programs at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor and Beaumont Children’s in Royal Oak, MI. Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan is the largest student-run non-profit organization in Michigan and I’m ecstatic to be a part of this organization! The wonderful therapies we sponsor offer children the unique opportunity to participate in activities that allow them to just be kids. The therapies include tree climbing, swimming, martial arts, dancing, bowling, creative coping, and many more.
This year I am the Event Management Chair, so I am in charge of planning our annual fundraising gala and VictorThon. I am super excited to take on this leadership role, and I can't wait to raise money for the amazing therapies that Dance Marathon supports. I recently spent the weekend volunteering at North Star Reach, which is a camp for kids with serious health challenges. I had the most amazing experience spending time with our Dance Marathon families at this camp. Seeing the happiness and smiles on these kids' faces makes all the work we put into this organization beyond worth it.
In March I will be standing on my feet for 24 consecutive hours with over 1,000 of my fellow students and friends to support the children and families who benefit directly from the programs we raise money for! Please consider helping me to reach my goal of $1,000 for the kids!
