Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan (DMUM) raises funds and awareness for pediatric rehabilitation programs at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor and Beaumont Children’s in Royal Oak, MI. Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan is the largest student-run non-profit organization in Michigan and I’m so excited to be a part of this organization again! The wonderful therapies we sponsor offer children the unique opportunity to participate in activities that allow them to just be kids. The therapies include tree climbing, swimming, martial arts, dancing, bowling, creative coping, and many more.
Last year I raised around $350 towards therapies through dance marathon. This year I am again participating in dance marathon through the steering committee and my goal is to raise $500 for the kids! The K-12 committee and I are working hard to raise money by expanding DMUM to local elementary, middle, and high schools. I am loving spreading my love for DMUM with young people by getting them involved with their own fundraisers and Mini-VictorThons!
I’ve already had the chance this year to participate in bucketing, return cans and volunteer at tree climbing therapy earlier this fall, but I am most excited for VictorThon which is quickly approaching in March!
On March 25th, 2017 I will be standing on my feet for 24 consecutive hours with over 1,000 of my fellow students and friends to support the children and families who benefit directly from the programs we raise money for! Please consider helping me to reach my goal of $500 this year for the kids!
