Thank you for stopping by my page!! Before I start my spiel, I will explain what Dance Marathon is and why it is truly the greatest organization to be a part of.
Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan (DMUM) raises funds and awareness for pediatric rehabilitation programs at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor and Beaumont Children’s in Royal Oak, MI. We are the largest student-run non-profit organization in Michigan and I’m ecstatic to be a part of this organization! The therapies that we sponsor include tree climbing, swimming, martial arts, dancing, bowling, creative coping, and many more that offer children the unique opportunity to just be kids!
One of my favorite memories is taking our family, and our child, Jade, last year to the Hands on Museum here in Ann Arbor. Forming a bond with Jade while helping her put on a fireman's costume for her photo op in the firetruck and hearing her laugh was one of the most heartwarming experiences.
Being a part of DMUM has inspired me to take my aspiration to be a physical therapist towards the pediatric route. Working with kids and seeing their smiles has inspired me. This year we are paired with 4 families. Recently in October, at our pumpkin carving event, we were able to bond with one of our families and their two year old, Mila. She is one of the happiest kids and already knows the Pledge of Allegiance! (Seen in first picture!)
On March 24th, 2018, I will be standing on my feet for 24 consecutive hours with over 1,000 of my fellow students and friends to support the children and families who benefit directly from the programs we raise money for! Please consider helping me to reach my goal of $700 for the kids! Whether or not you end up donating, I truly appreciate you stopping by my page and reading about the kids!
