What is a Dancer?

Dancers are the general members of Dance Marathon. Once registered, dancers will be placed in a house alongside other dancers. With your house, you will learn about our cause, communicate with families, help plan for our big events at biweekly house meetings, and become close with your house at bonding events. Being a dancer is a great way to form new relationships within DMUM and at the University of Michigan. For those interested in working directly with leadership from the very beginning, check out our Emerging Leaders (EL) program (applications are LIVE for 2024-2025!!)!

Why become a Dancer?

DMUM is a phenomenal way to make new friends and connect with existing friends! Dancers are placed in houses that will be matched with our wonderful DMUM families. Dancers get the opportunity to participate in fun events, interact with kids and families, and volunteer at pediatric therapies! Being a DMUM dancer is one of the coolest experiences at the University of Michigan. It should be on every student’s bucket list!

How can I join?

There are a couple of different ways to register to become a dancer: dancer houses, student organization teams, and fraternity & sorority teams. If you are a student, you can join by filling out the registration form below! Registration is free for all and only takes a few minutes!
