Zero Suicide Initiative

*If you are interested in volunteering at these programs, you must first register with DMUM. If you are unsure who to register as, please see our Get Involved page.*

The Zero Suicide Initiative aims to ensure that all youth at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital receive evidence-based suicide risk assesment once they screen positive risk of suicide or self-injurous behavior in pursuit of achieving and maintaining NO pediatric suicide attempts or deaths. The Zero Suicide Initiative at Michigan Medicine provides trainings to enhance the competence and confidence of our Child Emergency Services (CES) staff in suicide screening, risk assessment, and the provision of brief interventions for youth and families (e.g., safety planning, means restriction, follow-up support).
